Saturday at the Sugarbowl.

A wonderful week of adventures with my beloved Bryce has come to an end. He had a red-eye to catch on Saturday night so there were no plans other than packing. After I was done teaching my students, Dexter and I took the Madsen over to the Sugarbowl to meet up for some last minute lunch. Bryce and I got there at the same time. Some lady with her dog was going nuts over how cool my bike was and how neat it was that I had the baby with me. She said I should have my photo taken. I always have my camera with me, so we got her to snap one of all of us.

It was a busy, bustling day at the Bowl and while we were waiting for a table we took a few photos of Dexter eyeing Bryce's Hoegaarden.

I also ran into a reader of this blog, Matt, while I was saying hi to the bike guys next door. He said, "You're Sarah." And I was like, "Uh... who... wha... how...?" Afterwards he came out and met Dexter while I drooled over his Workcycles from... Amsterdam? I think that's where he said he bought it. He also informed me that he's trying to convince his friend to buy one of the Abicis on display at redbike. I wholeheartedly support this course of action. So great to meet other urban bike enthusiasts!

Here we are on the way home, riding leisurely.

I always thought riding on the road in traffic would be scary in the Madsen. It's not. It just feels normal.

I'm wearing my modcloth dress AGAIN. Yes, it's so comfortable and versatile and I don't care if it's featured repeatedly in my pictures. One thing about clothes is if you love it you should wear it. And if you don't love it, don't bother buying it in the first place. Save closet space.

Bon Voyage!

I love these posts!

And thanks for the modcloth link. I see some dresses I think I could live in. And I agree- wear it! I'm keeping you in my head each morning when I get dressed. Sometimes I think- oh no, don't wear the cute skirt-just wear jeans, but really I feel happy in a skirt! so who cares if I get my tights dirty by the end of the day. A little dirt ( esp from Tuber's bike wheel) never hurt anyone

So happy to see the photos of you riding the Mad with Dexter. The side shot is great to see. Plus, it's so nice to have a family one.

Found this fun photo of a decorated Madsen you might enjoy:

Love your madsen setup! I just have one question with your setup would you be able to fit two kids ages 3 and 5 behind the baby seat or is there just not enough room? I want a madsen and I'm just trying to get an idea of the size of the bucket... Thanks!

Mama - Dirty tights. Whatever! That's what laundry bags are for. Just save them up and chuck them into the wash:)

Sara - Thanks! It means a lot that other biking moms are reading this stuff.

1 girl - Mmm... I dunno. The bin is plenty big for 4 kids or cozy (interlocking legs) with two adults. The main problem is how HUGE the car seats are so if you're doing stuff with an infant? You might have to do something more improvised that what we have. Maybe a bobike on the handlebars to accommodate one of the little guys? Or if you have access to a bakfiets or something with a bigger box on the front?

Dottie - Sometimes I wish I could ride around covered up with just a porthole.

There were no cargo bikes in the US when my oldest boy was a baby so all of our pictures are of him in the backpack : ) I never get tired of looking at the pictures, either. Keep snapping them, you won't regret it.
